Manicures I wore while I wasn't blogging

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night (I have no idea when you guys read my posts)! Today I want to share some manicures with you that I wore while I wasn't blogging. Not all photo's are of the best quality but I hope you'll enjoy them nonetheless.

The Monthly Man-icure: October

"The monthly man-icure?", I can hear you think, "what is that?". Well, it's L'Ongleterre's latest item, and my plan is to make it a recurring one!

This item is a twist on the classic 'My boyfriend chose my nail polish'. For 'The Monthly Man-icure', Sebastian, my lovely boyfriend, will pick out one to three nail polishes and I have to create a manicure with those.

After snooping around my stash he proudly presented me these polishes:

Thanks to the bf for hand modeling

These are OPI -You only live twice and Catrice - Heavy Metallilac. If you want to know how I used these two for my manicure, read on...

~ OPI Jinx ~

My sweetest boyfriend gave me the beautiful OPI Jinx for my birthday (I turned 20 yesterday!). We both can't stop staring at it. You have probably already seen a zillion pictures of the OPI bond girls collection... and you probably also read that Jinx looks 'way better in real life' and that everybody just loves it, well, it just won't stop and I hope you haven't had enough of this polish yet, because here are my pictures and opinion of Jinx. Jinx's base seems to be pink/coral, white the shimmer is orange and gold. This combination makes Jinx a lovely, sparkly, bright, coral stunner. I applied two coats. All pictures were taken outside in natural light unless stated otherwise! :)

~ German-icure by OPI ~

Once again, my boyfriend bought me a lovely polish and I am very thankful :). This is a polish from the OPI Germany collection from fall 2012, described as 'the best burgundy shimmer in the business'. Read on to see if that claim has been rightfully made!

Something Suzi Said

On facebook, OPI asked followers to post questions for Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, the Executive Vice President and Artistic Director of OPI (glad I could found her position on Wikipedia, that's a long title - I'd love to carry it though...). The most 'liked' questions were answered by Suzi, and one of them I found especially interesting and I just had to share with you:

My first thought was this: "WOAAHH THAT LONG?!"
Second thought: "Omg Suzi knows what I'm wearing on my nails two years from now..."
And my final thought, still running to my mind: "I wish I could work with her and help thinking about colours and names" <3 I secretly love it when polishes I buy have only a number and no name... I just make up my own name then ^^

I guess my favourite OPI polishes are Nail Envy and Rainbow connection, Suzi did a great job on that last one. What's your fave?

All I can Confetti

Hello there! Today I have a happy, bright manicure to show you! I bought Catrice I All I can Blue with 50% reduction and I knew I had to do a festive manicure. I took this post from 'The boxes under my bed' as my inspiration.

Shot by a golden gun

My boyfriend got me a lovely polish - again! This time the (apparantly not so?) limited 'The man with the golden gun' by OPI. This polish is so special!! As if real gold flakes arent luxurious enough, it also comes in wonderful packaging.

Polish Presents

Holiday themed nail art! Yay! :D I'm not that big of a Christmas fan but I like matching my nails with special occasions so after seeing all those other beautiful nails online I just had to create something of of my own :D (although I didn't exactly invent this one, I saw many other polish lovers who did a manicure like this one)

The (first - lol) red polish I used is from a big set with 18 (eighteeeen!!!) polishes in it that my mom bought me. The set is from Germany, but I'm not sure where this brand called Technic is originally from or where it is sold. I do know about an eyeshadow pallet from the same brand which was a big hit with Dutch beautyblogs because it was cheap (we Dutch love cheap) and highly pigmented.

Sweet jelly sandwich

I decided to try out something new: a technique called "Jelly Sandwich".
For this type of manicure, you use a polish with a jelly finish, with a glitter polish in the middle. The jelly polish is the bread and the glittery one the spread.

If you want to buy 'It's a trap-eze' from China Glaze's most recent collection, don't, because the jelly sandwich is a great DIY-dupe! You would have to use a more grey-lavender jelly though.

Here's what I used:
MAX - neutral
Bourjois - Rosé sulfureux
OPI - Rainbow connection

Sandwich order:
One coat of the MAX polish
One coat of rosé sulfureux
One coat of rainbow connection
Two coats of rosé sulfureux

That made quite a thick but lovely sandwich =)

I don't know but it sure is beautiful! And sparkly...

Natural nails

This is NOT a French manicure!

I am guessing OPI's original Nail Envy made my tips this white.
